     |   Educating Children with Christ in Mind

The Woodstock Day School has been in existence for over 20 years. It began as a kindergarten with one class and evolved to a full preschool serving children age 1-4 years. The purpose of our program is to provide quality care, education and development to encourage each child to grow physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually. We feel this approach enables children to develop a good self-concept, a fundamental building block for future learning.

Remembering that the young child learns best by "doing", we incorporate many first hand experiences into our day-to-day activities. Our curriculum is also designed to teach and encourage valuable life and social skills, such as good health habits, nutrition, exercise, good manners and social interaction among peers. We believe that the lessons and skills learned in school are, in no way, meant to replace those learned at home. Instead, we strive to reinforce those lessons with daily opportunities to practice and engage with other children of a similar age.

The goals of our program include:
  • To help each child to know God and Godly behavior by incorporating Bible lessons into the curriculum.
  • To assist each child to grow physically through activities and exercise designed to improve their fine and gross motor skills.
  • To assist each child in learning age appropriate subject curriculum.
  • To provide the environment where each child can develop emotionally to gain a sense of self-esteem.
  • To provide the environment where each child may develop social skills for successful group behavior and interaction.
  • To communicate clearly in a helpful, congenial manner with parents to provide information, problem solving, and encouragement to participate in the child's education.
  • To minister to each family's needs as requested including physical, spiritual and emotional, as we have opportunity.
  • To provide opportunities for family Bible studies, and encourage each family to participate in worship services.
